2018 - Pylos - Re-enactment of the Battle of Navarino
Rhea shared in the excitement of festivities at Pylos to celebrate the Battle of Navarino, the famous naval battle that led to the independence of Greece on the 20th October, 1827. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Navarino
The re-enactment took about an hour and a half, but it can be seen speeded up on a great Instagram Video that gives a great impression of the event, including the star "Rhea"

T V...... In 2014 Rhea was used for a Dutch celebrity "Seven Seas" TV series, sponsored by Green Peace. Filming was in Italy and lasted for 3 weeks. Their FaceBook has videos and we will add more video later

David, Penny and crew could not have been more hospitable, gracious and accommodating and were wonderful guides around the deep blue seas of Turkey. David took us waterskiing and snorkeling alike, and several of us even struck out in the kayak a day or two. As importantly, Rhea itself, even without the other water toys, is such a treat! I’ve done a bit of sailing, but have never had the honor of sailing on such a beauty. We were the envy of every port. You’d do well to book everyone that comes your way with David on Rhea. Dear David, Penny & Julia,
Finally found time to sit down and send you this lovely photo of Rhea. It was taken from the small boat as we went off for the day on the river trip - so you will know the name of the anchorage.
I can't tell you how much we all enjoyed our time with you. It was one of the most relaxing holidays I've ever had - and with 7 children around, that's saying something! Julia, Becky and Matt were great and really kept the kids entertained. Penny - you came up with some lovely meals in spite of the limited facilities - I don't think I could cater as well in a fully equipped big kitchen! David was the perfect host and "sensetively" catered for everyone's requirements.
We very much hope to charter Rhea again one day (the kids are insisting!) so hopefully see you all again. Once again thank you so much for a fantastic holiday. Kindest regards...

First sail of the season & Rhea is polished & ready to sail. We celebrated Rhea's 101st birthday with a banquet by Penny - a night to remember. The waters are clear and warm & the sky’s always blue - we could not ask for more. Mark taught us to pull & wind ropes - thanks Mark. Sally kept us well supplied with food, drinks & good humour - thanks Sally. Penny was always busy, either below decks or above. What a cook! and a sailor - thanks Penny. David kept us entertained and couldn’t do enough for us - thanks David. Finally, thankyou Rhea for the great experience...
Yet again a memorable holiday - we brought yet more relatives, mostly Australian, to experience Turkey and Rhea, and we are all hooked! Major fishing success - 2 mackerel and two plastic bags, and many false alarms! Superb food, wine, company, good humour & lovely settings, with Rhea purring along. Thank you - all- and love from...
Reflection....here we are at the end of our trip reflecting on the last 2 weeks. All memories are vivid and everlasting. To my eyes I’ll remember all the blue and white. To my ears I’ll remember the sounds of the wind and my children laughing. To my nose I’ll remember all the wonderful smells of fantastic food and to my heart I’ll remember the wonderful people. We’ve had such a great trip. I feel as though I have become part of the Rhea family and our family will never forget your family...
Thanks, you guys have been wonderful in every way. I most of all appreciate the caring for my family - - you have given tham a life time experience. They will all remember for ever, and believe me I will too!! I can’t add much more than they have except that I will carry my own experience with you close to the top of all my personal experiences. A great trip and a worthy sequel to our first trip on Rhea 3 year ago. A very well planned itinerary with the best mixture of ports, coves and beaches. Perfect weather and we will retain many happy memories. Come and see us again.
We arrived with some trepidation at the prosepect of 8 x 11- (8 children under 11) for seven days @ sea. Thanks for the remarkable patience, care, attentiveness and thorough good humour of you all, it has been a remarkably carefree holiday for the grown-ups as well. Perfection. David at the wheel. Penny permanently providing superb tucker washed down by Mark’s moderate “Gins” and tonics and copious beers. Sally coping with old, infirm and young ably supported by Julia who out dived, jumped and waterskiied all. A most restful and marvelous holiday for which many thanks.
You’ve given us a memorable week on your unique boat and spoiled us all rotten. I loved the water skiing after 25 years! The swimming in stunning anchorages has been wonderful - sleeping on deck under the stars was romantic, lunches and teas on deck provided by Penny were delicious and I especially enjoyed Mark’s G & T’s every evening. All this adds up to a fabulous experience in Turkey & many thanks to you all.
Many thanks to you all for so much hard work & waiting on our every whim - it made me feel quite guilty for doing nothing, but not guilty enough to join in! It was a wonderful holiday for us all & I wish you all every success in your futures.

The sign of a great holiday is when you have no desire at all to return to one’s creature comforts at home which is precisely how I feel while writing this. We’ve appreciate particularly the nice and often sailings we have done, representing each time lots of work and efforts from all of you. David we certainly could not have “hand picked” a more dynamic Captain - at the helm & on deck - your choices in anchoring were beautiful & “exciting”, we especially enjoyed docking at the marina in Fethiye! Move over here comes “Rhea”!!
One thing is clear - your professionalism and passion for sailing and the islands is apparent in any language. We are the fortunate beneficiaries of this love and attention, and cannot thank you enough for making our first trip a most memorable experience...
Thank you again for a wonderful holiday. Our 3rd time as a family on Rhea ...... but not the last. The crews have changed on all three holidays but all have been inbued by the happy & caring atmosphere you generate. You could not have been more gracious and considerate hosts - nothing has been too much trouble for you. And, of course, Rhea is a seriously wonderful boat in every respect. She looks better each time we sail with her as she goes so very gracefully into her centennial. We’ll be back, be warned!
